Opening Doors that have been Closed by Ageism, the Under-the-Radar Diversity Issue
Ageism in the workplace is a major problem for designers, particularly because it is considered to be acceptable even by many against other forms of prejudice & discrimination. Richard will review how culture promotes the practice of ageism, discuss how individuals, our profession, organizations, & society are hurt by it, & suggest ways to address it.
Richard Anderson is a consultant with more than 25 years of experience. He is Principal of OE Strategy, providing human-centered research, strategy, & design thinking for organizations seeking to make a positive difference in the world. He is also on the faculty of the Austin Center for Design teaching design & social entrepreneurship.
